I want to commend you and your students for the part you have played in beginning this school year so smoothly. We are off and running and it is hard to believe that it is time for the first report card. Speaking of time flying by, I want to take this opportunity to invite you to be partners with your student’s education. There is no possible way that we can accomplish the task at hand without you; we must be a team. Please consider this as an open invitation to come to the school and observe your child’s classroom, eat lunch with your child, or volunteer to help the teacher. We will happily accommodate any level of involvement you choose. This is a common theme in my PTA newsletters, because your children grow up so quickly, and believe it or not, there will come a time when they will not want you to come to school, so I encourage you to make this a part of your routine. I promise you will not regret the time spent engaged with your child’s education.
We try to communicate to you in various forms. If you are on Facebook come join our school’s site. You can find us at www.facebook.com/OfficialMullendoreElementaryPage/
In addition to our Facebook page, you will also find pertinent information on the school web site http://schools.birdvilleschools.net/ame . We also send out a paper calendar at the beginning of each month letting you know what is going one. Each teacher has their own class web site, and I invite you to check it periodically for updated information. In addition to the above mentioned forms of communication, each teacher uses a Tuesday folder by which important information is disseminated. From time to time you will receive an automated email from the school informing you of upcoming events. We hope that with this, in addition to paper notices that will be sent home, you will find communication between school and home to be quite thorough.
We have many exciting events coming up in the very near future, and I look forward to seeing you. We try to have events outside of the school day to help create our sense of a shared community. School is important, but I believe relationships are even more so, so I hope you take the time to participate. Mullendore is a great place for kiddos, and I encourage you to see this for yourselves.
The mission of Birdville ISD is to ensue that all students position themselves to excel with integrity in an ever-changing global society through innovative and responsive learning environments.
